Gather Circular Public Seats

Gather is a series of seven seats in different sizes that can be used as stools, chairs, or rocking chairs, resulting in seven potential seating options. It is specifically designed for public spaces, promoting social interaction and making these areas more fun, comfortable, and interactive. The seats can be arranged in a circle around elements like trees or columns, creating a welcoming environment for people to gather and engage with their surroundings.

Improving Public Seats

While there is considerable diversity and innovation in designing seats for indoor and private spaces, public spaces and outdoor seating arrangements often rely on simple benches. Through observation, I have identified several areas within public seating that could greatly benefit from improvement and innovation.

Non-linear seating: Rather than traditional benches, exploring designs that encourage a higher level of interaction among people in public spaces.
Universal and customizable designs: Developing seating options that can accommodate individuals of various ages, abilities, and preferences, allowing for different seating positions.
Incorporating public elements: Introducing seating solutions that incorporate elements people naturally lean on or gather around, creating more engaging and versatile seating arrangements.
